Diabetic Program

    The Diabetic Nurse provides inpatient & outpatient counseling. The Diabetic Nurse also does health promotion and Diabetes prevention activities in the community and provides in-service to other health professionals.
    A Dietician provides counseling twice a month.

Tertiary Care Services
  • Tertiary Care Services
    Provided mainly in Thunder Bay, with transfers available by land ambulance or by air with the medivac helicopters (one in Thunder Bay & one in Kenora), the medivac plane (from Dryden) or one of several fixed wing planes. Land trips to Thunder Bay are approximately 2 hours, to Fort Frances 1.5 hours, and air trips 30-45 minutes.
