The friendly community of Atikokan, “The Canoeing Capital of Canada,” is actively recruiting for full time rural physicians.
The community of Atikokan is serviced by a group of cooperative physicians working out of one hospital and one clinic. Atikokan’s Under Serviced Area Program designation is seven and the physicians are funded under the Rural and Northern Physician Group Agreement and receive emergency department on-call funding for after hours and on weekends. Under this agreement the physicians provide full coverage to the patient and residents of the hospital and Extended Care Wing, as well as 24-hour on-call emergency coverage.
