DietitianPosition Details Dietitian
Under the direction of the Long-Term Care Manager, the Dietitian is responsible for carrying out the clinical and nutritional care duties pertaining to residents of Long-Term Care as outlined in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021. The Dietitian will complete nutritional assessments for all residents on admission and whenever there is a significant change in a resident’s health condition, determine nutritional risk levels of all residents, conduct quarterly nutrition assessments and monitor resident weight measurements on admission, monthly and annually. The Dietitian will also assess any referred residents with skin conditions that are likely to require or respond to nutrition intervention and making recommendations as required. The Dietitian is also responsible for providing assessment, intervention, support, and education related to medical nutrition therapy for inpatients of AHCS as well as providing nutritional education as part of the Diabetes Program in association with the Atikokan Family Health Team.

Under the supervision of the Acute / ER Nurse Manager, the Emergency Department (ED) Ward Clerk is responsible for promoting a positive experience and providing customer service to patients and families presenting to the Emergency Department. The ED Ward Clerk also organizes work within the unit, interacts with other departments to ensure seamless patient care, and provides clerical support to the clinical team.
The role includes, but is not limited to, performing a range of administrative and clerical tasks such as telephone enquiries, appointment scheduling, patient registration, photocopying, faxing and transcribing physician orders, order entry, collecting patient payment, and liaising with various medical professionals and other stakeholders. The Ward Clerk provides pleasant, cooperative, timely and accurate information to physicians, nursing staff and patients, exhibiting sound judgement and initiative while working within the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions of the organization.

Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Long-Term Care Nurse Manager is accountable for the supervision and direction of all nursing and personal care staff, and for the overall quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of resident care on the Long-term Care Unit (Extended Care Wing) at Atikokan Health and Community Services (AHCS). The Nurse Manager provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for daily nursing care delivery and ensures compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 (FLTCA), Ontario Regulation 246/22, and Ministry of Long-Term Care standards while promoting resident-centered care, staff development, and quality improvement.

Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer - Permanent, Full-Time (#2026-27)Position Details Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer - Permanent, Full-Time (#2026-27)
Reporting to the President and CEO, and a member of the Executive Team, the Chief Financial and Corporate Services Officer (CFCSO) is responsible for the Financial and Corporate Services at Atikokan Health and Community Services (AHCS) which includes Family Health Team funding, RAAM clinic funding and Mental Health funding. The CFCSO participates in regular Board meetings and is also the AHCS executive representative to the Hospital Foundation Board.

The Emergency Department entry is typically locked and visitors must lift the phone handset at the entrance, where a nurse will respond and assist with entry. If the door is already open, please check in at the registration desk before proceeding to visit a patient.
