The successful candidate will gain valuable patient care experience and build connections within an interprofessional environment in a family healthcare setting. RN practice will be enhanced through ongoing learning and education. This position is Monday to Friday; 8-hour days with the occasional evening shift to support our evening clinics.

The Nurse Practitioner (Registered Nurse Extended Class – NP or RN-EC) is a member of the Atikokan Family Health Team (AFHT) who provides a high level of comprehensive care to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of the individual.
The role of the NP or RN(EC) is to work in collaboration with the community family physicians and the interdisciplinary team to provide care to an entire patient population. The NP follows the patient through all stages of growth and development, through degrees of wellness and illness, from one setting to another, collaborating with other health care providers in various settings. The NP provides holistic assessments and creates linkages with appropriate resources.

The Health Records Technician codes, abstracts, and submits DAD and NACRS data following CIHI standards and provincial and organizational guidelines. The Health Records Technician is responsible for data quality and analysis, transcription, release of information, record retention, and other department activities, as assigned. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with applicable legislation such as the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
The Health Records Technician plays a vital role in supporting patient safety, effective health service delivery, and compliance with legal and accreditation standards across Ontario’s healthcare system.

Under the direction of the AFHT Manager, the Program Assistant will provide administrative assistance to Nurse Practitioner, IHP’s, FHT Programs, and ED, including typing correspondence, reports and other documents.
This position is responsible for performing tasks including providing program support to health professionals, Coordinate committee meetings, creating and distributing agenda and minutes, administrative support for the overflow contract with Home and Community Care Support Services as well as monitoring the need for program materials by keeping up to date on program changes and help create any materials needed for the programs as they change and grow.

Under the direction of the Outpatient Services Manager, the Counsellor provides individual, group or family counselling to individuals 16 years of age and older who are experiencing difficulties in areas of emotional/mental health, or are concerned about their own or others’ substance use or process addictions. Services provided include: individual, group or family counselling; arranging psychiatric consultations; crisis intervention and suicide prevention; drug, alcohol and gambling assessments (ages 12 and up); referral to residential treatment; community treatment and relapse prevention, as appropriate. The Counsellor will also provide emergency support on a rotating on-call basis.

Intake Coordinator and Group Facilitator (#2026-18)Position Details Intake Coordinator and Group Facilitator (#2026-18)
Under the direction of the Outpatient Services Manager, the Intake Coordinator & Group Facilitator plays a central role in supporting client access, program delivery, and operational continuity within the counselling department. This position is responsible for managing client intake processes, developing and facilitating therapeutic group programming, and providing cross-functional support across reception, administration, and case management as needed.
The role also contributes to staff development, community engagement, and culturally responsive care, with a particular emphasis on Indigenous cultural sensitivity, addiction recovery support, and system efficiency through proficiency in MediTech Expanse.

The Emergency Department entry is typically locked and visitors must lift the phone handset at the entrance, where a nurse will respond and assist with entry. If the door is already open, please check in at the registration desk before proceeding to visit a patient.
